We are closer than we think and share more than we know.
An interactive project about the connections we share with others, starting conversations about our journeys around the world. The idea grew from being the only Latina in my Masters cohort and how surprising it was to hear other's travel stories, this got me thinking about how the world is so large, and yet we're all somehow connected. This project turns that thought into an activity participants can experience themselves.

The experience
Physical
A world map drawn on the floor, with participants tracing their journeys in coloured chalk or tape. This casual medium invited playful behaviour and turned out to be a genuinely effective way to have participants engage with each other and with the public.
Digital
The journeys collected via forms fed an interactive map you can explore in different views: a world map with our rotes (all and individually) with a chart of everyone's connections and a globe with everyone's homes, all built with Framer.
The outcome
Showcased and playtested at MAGI Expo Orbits 2025, the installation showed how a casual, playful environment with colorful tapes and a world map drawn on the floor is an effective way to engage into conversations about how our cultures and stories shape us and how much we didn't know we shared.
